Thanks to crew, sponsors for AHS cleanup

To the editor:

On Saturday, April 13, Amesbury High School held its first annual Spring Clean-Up Palooza. Fifteen student volunteers came to rake, weed, edge, spread bark mulch and plant flowers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The clean-up crew consisted of the following students: Taylor Bolduc, Charles Cabral, Emily Carroll, Julianne Darnell, Gaetan Deschenes, Kailea Evangelista, Corey Kotfila, Matt Lavoie, Kyle Mirley, Spencer Moavenzadeh, Colleen Noonan, Kreisten Provost, Arman Sanentz, Natalie Torrey and Marisa Woltunski.

Lunch was generously provided be Vermette’s, Pizza Factory, Amesbury Sports Park and Hodgies. Leo’s Superbowl contributed bowling passes as a way to support the kids.

Special thanks to Heidi Corson of Down to Earth Landscaping, Thomas Ellrott of Custom Landscaping, Tim Lamprey of Harbor Garden Center and Freeman Condon of Beach Plum Farms for their valuable time and expert advice. The phlox, periwinkle and violas came from Newton’s Greenhouse. Home Depot provided topsoil and bark mulch. Donations for future bulbs and plants were made by Rogers Funeral Home and The Winner’s Circle.

Lastly, a big thank-you to Barabara Leary for her pick-up services and Tim Angerhofer for offering the use of his garden tools.
