Great Chefs' Night raises $60,000 for AJH

To the editor:

Once again, it takes a village ...

On March 21, the Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association hosted its signature fundraiser, Great Chefs’ Night, which raised almost $60,000 for our community hospital. This year’s theme was “Ooh la la — Great Chefs!” Our event was held at The Governor’s Academy and over 400 guests enjoyed an evening under starry Parisian skies

We would like to thank the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank and the Institution for Savings, who once again were our presenting sponsors for this gala. Also, special thanks to our Platinum sponsors, who helped to make this event a huge success: M.K. Benatti Jewelers, Colden & Seymour ENT, Matter Communications, Dr. Guy Navarra and MetTrimMD, Newburyport Gastroenterology, North Shore Internal Medicine, Pentucket Medical, RiverSong Plastic Surgery, Sean Perkins of Stoneridge Properties, The Financial Advisors, LLC, The Provident Bank, and Vision Source-Watts Eye Associates. Our Gold sponsors: Atlantic Ambulance Service, Inc., Baystate Financial Services, Daniel L. Lynch Pharmacy and Whitman Financial Services. Our Silver sponsors: Circle Finishing, Inc., the law offices of Connolly & Connolly, Grossman Marketing, Healey, Deschaines and Gagliardi, Dr. Bernard Heersink, Karen Holmes Physical Therapy, Lombardi Oil & Gas, Lower Merrimac Valley PHO, Inc., Minuteman Press, Arthur S. Page and Port Plaza Cleaners, Inc.

Of course, the main attraction at Great Chefs’ Night is always the culinary delights provided by the Greater Newburyport area restaurants. A special thanks to this year’s restaurant coordinators who worked hard to showcase the best of the best, Gregg Pugh of PI Beachcoma, Paula Simpson and Brian Taylor of Carry-Out-Cafe. Our thanks to each of the chefs whose savory tastings provided epicurean delights: The chefs from the Ale House/Barking Dog, Andiamo, the AJH Cafe, Bienville Catering, Bob Lobster, Brine, Carry-Out Cafe and Catering, Ceia Kitchen & Bar, Chococcoa Baking Company, David’s Fish Market, David’s Tavern, Dianne’s Fine Desserts, The Grog, Loretta, Mad Martha’s Cafe, Michael’s Harborside, Mission Oak Grill, Old Town Bread Company, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, Oregano, Panera Bread, PI Beachcoma, Plum Island Coffee Roasters, Sysco Corporation and Ten Center Street.
