We would also like to recognize the contributions and support of the Anna Jaques Hospital Facilities, Foundation and Volunteer Departments, Denise’s Flower Shop, Don Miller of Fine Finish Carpentry, Nunan Florist & Greenhouse, Governor’s Academy, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Seaboard Products/Great Brewers, Fontaine Dubus of The Dance Studio, Mike Steer of Seaport Signworks of Salisbury, Missy Moore and Crystal Silva of the Newburyport Five, Pam Johnson of Travelling Bartenders and her team, Ipswich Ale and our fantastic wait staff from Triton Regional High School.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Mark Goldstein and Esther Sayer, who were this year’s emcees and auctioneers. Our D.J. Scott Arrington of Murray Hill Talent, Christopher Eyers Yerlig, our Mime, Daniel Rindge, our Sketch Artist and Fontaine Dubus and her CanCan Dancers from The Dance Place. All provided a fun-filled evening!
Aid board members Martha Terry and Anne Tuthill were this year’s co-chairs and are to be congratulated. They, with the help of our fellow Aid Association members, worked tirelessly for the last several months to make the evening a huge success.
For over 125 years, all proceeds from the Aid’s fundraisers go to supporting patient services and help to maintain Anna Jaques as a topnotch facility with up-to-date technology. At its annual meeting each October, the Aid Association presents a gift to AJH and the 2013 amount was a record breaker at $108,000. A large portion of this donation comes from the Aid’s fundraisers (Great Chefs, bake sales, art sales, etc.) but more than 50 percent of the annual donation amount comes from the proceeds of the hospital Gift Shop, which is owned and operated by the Aid Association.
Again, our deepest gratitude to the many Greater Newburyport restaurants, chefs, caterers, businesses, high school volunteers and faithful family and friends of Anna Jaques who have unstintingly sponsored Great Chefs’ Night and have readily donated their time, services and goods to the cause. Our patrons and attendees are also heartily thanked. The civic-mindedness and tremendous spirit of giving lend real credence to the notion that it “takes a village.”
A million thanks! We could not have done it without all of you.
On behalf of the Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association,
Mary Zerigian, President
