To the editor:
Amesbury has never looked nicer at Christmas time. Kissing balls, lighted garlands on the lampposts combined with decorated window boxes add to the festive glow. I think the merchants need a hand of applause for the efforts they have used in their window and merchandise displays.
I know this is a group effort and there are always some folks who spend many extra hours working to achieve what is becoming a wonderful tradition in Amesbury. I want to thank a few of the elves that pulled it together. Always a leader in décor, The Provident Bank sets the tone. Jay Gould of Flatbread, the sisters Antonietta and Elisa of Restorante Molise, Matt Sherrill of Gould Insurance conscripted his wife, Ellie, and daughter, Juliann, to help hang kissing balls and lighted garland on all the lampposts.
Melissa Lachance, our new director of the Chamber of Commerce, certainly has taken the reins and coordinated the chamber’s activities.
Merchants really put their efforts in making this year a positive one for Amesbury. They are Art Studio, Ale House, Ovedia, Cherry Bomb, Gould Insurance and Park Place, Ben’s Uniforms, Arc Tech-Water Street, Starbird Jewelers, Paws, Dolan Financial and Raya Beauty Center.
I have been in business in Amesbury for 29 years. And, this is the best-looking holiday ever. Thanks to all who participated I hope their holiday will be a joyous and prosperous one.
Merry Christmas to all.
