To the editor:
Why does it seem that so many areas of “improved” Newburyport are in the half-baked department? I have no idea who is responsible or who should be accountable — but let’s see if this gets anyone’s attention:
a. A beautiful rail trail that encouraged dog walkers, with state-of-the-art bag dispensers, which have been empty — zero bags — since last spring. Why?
b. A new Harbor Walk path at the bottom of Lime and Water streets, excellent new plantings — rarely weeded and now overrun with weeds. Who?
c. Gizillions of $$ spent on the sewer plant — now the smell is worse than before. I am running out of Febreeze, and need a mask for daily walk along the ...
d. Sewer path — un-mowed, overgrown, dirty. A bush hog and mower on a weekly basis is an easy fix, for starters. A favorite walk for dogs, kids, family, bikers, birdwatchers. Why can’t this space be kept as nice as the Chamber keeps uptown Newburyport?
Seems a lot of balls get dropped in this beautification project, and no one is accountable. I for one would love some answers
