To the Editor:
As a father and veteran I worry about what type of future my children will inherit. The question to me is this: will they be able to find jobs, pay off college loans, start a family, buy a home and have inspiring choices for careers or developing a business? Its amazing to me that on November 6th what we do collectively as voters will impact the welfare of my children.
Massachusetts is at an economic and political crossroads. Governor Patrick and many members of the state legislator have signalled that post-election, the remedy to reverse the fortunes of our transportation system and continue our widespread social programs will be increased taxes and fees. Tax increases on individuals and payroll and fees on small businesses will further de-stabilize an already makeshift economy .
Lenny Mirra has eloquently responded to this threat to our well being. As a businessman he has witnessed first-hand the burden of taxes, fees and regulation and he has unabashedly shared these experiences with us at every public opportunity, from debates and statements, to door-to-door visits. He offers solutions that place an emphasis on job creation by allowing businesses to grow with reduced and streamlined fees, taxes and regulations.
I am voting for Lenny Mirra for the 2nd Essex representative seat and urge you to do the same. We have an opportunity to send a fiscal conservative to Beacon Hill and help hold in check the pursuit of failed social policies that threaten the future of our children.
