Thanks for helping me get to inauguration

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to say thank you in so many ways. Some of you may know the story of me and two other classmates who will be going to Washington, D.C., for the presidential Inauguration, as part of the People to People Student Leadership Program.

I would like to start off by thanking Mr. John Collyer at Pine Grove School for believing in me, because without his nomination, I would never have known about this great program. Mrs. Christine Kneeland, principal of Pine Grove, for allowing me to attend this trip and all of my teachers who have helped me along the way.

I wish to thank everyone who helped in any way with all of my fundraising. Whether it was donating goods to the yard sale, shopping at the yard sale, buying candy from me outside Market Basket in Rowley or sometimes just dropping a couple of dollars and not buying anything. Thank you to my sister Girl Scouts for giving up their Sunday to help out at the yard sale. Thanks to my swim team, the YNS Sharks, for allowing me to set up concessions and raise the balance of my funds and put me over the top. Thank you to Market Basket for allowing me to set a table up outside the store.

Thanks to everyone who supported me financially, I would like to mention everyone who helped me reach my goal: Alison Galati, Margot Lacey, the Katz family, Profile Research Inc., Aero Manufacturing, Institution for Savings, the Thorogood family, the Kimball family, Pine Grove PTA, the Sparks family.

Every dollar I received added up, and for that I am truly grateful. I especially want to thank my mom — this never would have happened without her. I am truly proud to be going on to Washington, D.C., and make everyone proud of my responsibility to represent my community at the Inauguration.
