Thanks for making book sale a success

To the editor:

The Friends of the Merrimac Public Library recently held a very successful Book and Bake Sale.

Thanks to the efforts of many new volunteers and to the generosity of local book lovers who donated books, CDs and DVDs, the Friends will continue to purchase museum passes and necessities for the library. Homemade baked goods were greatly appreciated by all.

A raffle of a Kindle Paperwhite was won by Kathleen Barron. Liam Ruiz came closest to guessing how many animal crackers were in the jar and won not only the crackers, but a Friends of MPL book bag.

The success of our book sale is dependent upon donations. Everyone who had a part in this book sale, those who made donations or who spent hours sorting and organizing or packed up and stacked unsold books showed just how important the Friends organization is to our town.

The Friends meet every third Thursday of the month. Book some time with the Friends. Visit our website: mplfriends.web.com.
