Kudos to Homecoming chairwoman

To the editor:

I would like to acknowledge Tammy Jennings and the entire Yankee Homecoming committee, volunteers, past general chairs and so many more for an incredible celebration. The year of planning can take its toll on a chairman and their volunteers, believe me. I went through it in 2004 and have the gray hairs to prove it. This is a celebration of our wonderful city of Newburyport. I was so proud to walk down High Street this year with my good friend and past general chairman Dave Chretien during the parade.

There are those who hate the festival, yet never volunteer to make things better. Well, all I can say is if you can do better then step up. I did, and what a great year I had. It was all worth it. If you missed your chance to be a part of Yankee Homecoming, then sign up as soon as the new chairman is ready to go. Congrats again to Tammy. Great job! I, and all who support you, are very proud of you.
