Tierney should listen to constituents

Newburyport Daily News

---- — Editor; According to the dictionary, the word represent, is to serve as the agent and act as a spokesman. According to the Daily News, REPRESENTATIVE Tierney said that calls from his constituents are “overwhelmingly against going in”. Yet, he can’t make up his mind! Forgive my naivety; but I thought he was supposed to represent us, the people who elected him. Too many politicians ignore their constituents and simply vote for whatever benefits them or their party. Tierney seems to have joined that group. As for the Brown School playground, do these well-meaning parents not realize that their children could walk a few more blocks (exercise is good) and play at the newly renovated Perkins playground? To the editor:

According to the dictionary, the word represent is to serve as the agent and act as a spokesman.

According to the Daily News, Representative Tierney said that calls from his constituents are “overwhelmingly against going in” (to Syria).
