Museum board thanks those who volunteer

To the editor:

The Board of Directors of the Bartlett Museum on Main Street in Amesbury appreciates the many volunteers who use their skills and time for the good of the museum. These people are important because they care about the museum and take no pay for what they do.

The grass has been cut for many years by Lars Johannessen and son, Thor, who are neighbors and members of the museum. Museum board member Carol Finn trims shrubs in the front yard of the museum and adds a large planter to the front door landing and keeps it watered. The museum’s annual newsletter is organized onto a disk to make it ready for printing from all the items we drop onto member “Ski” Dennis Iworsky.

Any time we need visuals for presentations like the film shown after our annual meeting in March, board member Tim Gurczak is always willing. Gina Moscardini as a board member for many years has taken on the Electronic Recycling Day Fundraiser without hesitation to enable us to pay our bills. Tony Knapp has not only been president of the Board of Directors for more than a decade, he has taken on the role of docent every weekend these last two years. Steve Klomps has continued to be the treasurer and faithfully presents a financial report at each board meeting.

The museum is open and running because of the many volunteers like these now and since the beginning in 1968. Thank you all.
