---- — To the editor:
Here it is again. Memorial Day come and gone and the same two veterans were forgotten again. This has happened for over 10 years with the exception of a couple years in between.
It’s not like the graves aren’t marked. One plaque says “T Sgt US Army World War II” and the other plaque says “LT. U.S. Navy World War II.” It’s not like they are way back off the road. One is right on the road and the other is behind it.
Don’t tell me to call about it. I have and every year I get the same answer. Well, if they were marked ... How much more can they be marked? The plaques are right there if whoever is placing the flags could read. Why is it that some graves that aren’t clearly marked get flags?
I’m sure that mine aren’t the only ones forgotten. I think it’s a shame and a dishonor that those who served this country are ignored on the day they should be remembered.
What will it take to make sure that all veterans are honored in every cemetery in the city of Newburyport?
