Thanks for helping to clean up rail trail

Newburyport Daily News

---- — To the editor:

I would like to write a note to thank all the volunteers who came out on one cold, chilly day to help the Friends of the Amesbury rail trail and the Coastal Trails Coalition with our cleanup of Amesbury’s Rail Trail on Saturday, Nov. 23.

David Floyd, the manager from Stop & Shop Supermarket, came down and brought coffee and treats for all the workers and joined in on the three hours of trail cleaning. There was lots of raking and picking up of trash that occurred on this brisk fall morning. Many thanks to Stop & Shop, Deb Carey, Nancy Brogden, David Floyd, Janet Bowes, Peter Bryant, Frankie Lallemand, Jonathan, Amy amnd Julian Sherwood, Ken Aspeslagh, Chaffee Monel and Anne Ferguson. I continue to be amazed at what wonderful volunteers and community members that Amesbury has.

I also remind myself to be grateful for all of them during this Thanksgiving and holiday season. If you are interested in finding out about being a Friend of Amesbury Rail Trails or about joining the Coastal Trails Coalition, you can check it out online at: http://coastaltrailstest.wordpress.com/.
