To the editor:
The Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center would like to thank our supporters who participated in the 20th Annual Walk Against Violence & Dorothy's Run 5K on Sunday, Oct. 16. Without their contributions and caring, we would be unable to provide the critical services for victims of family violence. We would like to acknowledge the support of our honorary chairs, Mayor Donna Holaday of Newburyport and Mayor Thatcher W. Kezer III of Amesbury.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this is an especially important year for us since it the 20th Annual Walk Against Violence & Dorothy's Run 5K. We hope that the event raised awareness of domestic violence in the communities we serve; and since the walk is our single largest fundraiser of the year, its success means we can continue to provide free programs and services to the adults and children impacted by family violence and abuse.
