To the Editor:
I'm writing again because just reading the Sept. 19 edition of the News I had to comment — story on front page of Atkinson Common was "a travesty" all right, but I'm not surprised as we all should not be. That's why I continue to say, "I'm sick of hearing how beautiful Newburyport is!" The common is a beautiful spot, and it should be kept up. But everything goes to hell after it's in place. No one gives a damn then.
The other item was the letter from Jeanette Isabella referring in part to the A-frames in town — I can go along with her — in part the litter that's left behind everywhere, and the run-down sidewalks everywhere of which I'm very familiar. So what's befoul there? Only the "condos" which keep multiplying. And the waterfront will be blocked off.
Maybe when Karp takes over things will look up — haha!
