To the editor:
On Sunday, June 7 the Newburyport High School Class of 2009 enjoyed an all-night, substance-free Senior Celebration thanks to support from Newburyport businesses, residents, community groups, Newburyport Youth Services and senior class parents.
Graduates boarded buses and headed out of state to Portsmouth. The evening started with roller skating followed by a barbecue dinner with casino games, competitive races and a fabulous raffle featuring 100-plus items. Next stop was The Gaslight for two hours of disco. A "family feud" game engaged the competitive spirit once again before ending the evening with breakfast and watching the sunrise at the coast. Extra food from the evening was donated to Emmaus House in Haverhill and Our Neighbors' Table in Amesbury.
