Newburyport Daily News
---- — To the editor:
This year’s Yankee Homecoming fireworks raffle was overseen by George Bossi, and he did a great job. George made sure to acquaint himself with all of the local marinas. They were a great team. The success of the raffle would not have been possible without all of the assistance from the marinas that sold the tickets.
The most popular event of Yankee Homecoming week, the fireworks, was held on Saturday, Aug. 3. It was a clear night and the music on the waterfront was spectacular. Al Saloky and the Compaq Big Band were fantastic. Jason Lacroix did a great job organizing the evening’s events for everyone to enjoy.
Throughout the festivities, I heard comments such as “Beautiful! Such a good job with this finale”; “Most spectacular show ever” and “Best fireworks I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you for the wonderful night!”
The raffle takes a lot of preparation. Thank you to Newburyport Harbormaster Paul Hogg and his wonderful staff and all of our local marinas and so many individuals that helped to make this year’s event awesome. The raffle drawing was held on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Newburyport Yacht Club. Please see the list below of all our winners! Thank you to everyone!
