Help win the battle vs. ragweed

To the Editor:

I have been pulling up the ragweed plants that are found in abundance along the street verges during my daily walks around downtown Amesbury, but it is a hopeless task. One person can only make a trivial dent in this weed. There was a time when there were annual drives by the towns and the Boy Scouts to destroy the weed producing huge amounts of pollen to which so many are allergic. I suppose it is easier to pop a pill than to pull up the plants. Pill poppers should read the small print on there pill bottle.
