Church needs donations

To the editor:

During the past decade the First Parish Church of Newbury has brought joy to the community. New Eden Garden Community Garden located on the church property at 20 High Road has garden plots for local residents and offers workshops on growing vegetables organically.

Our Secret Garden Nursery and Preschool was founded by church members. The program kindles children’s sense of wonder at the natural world and provides hands-on experience in nature with aquariums and indoor and outdoor planting areas.

The inspiration behind the First Parish Special Needs Sunday School is to bring religious education to children of all ages who are differently abled.

The first step will be to put the church on a firm financial footing. I pray that the congregation of the church will open their hearts and pocketbooks to pay the ministerial and Sunday School director salaries from 2012 and repay loans to the church listed on the church Facebook page at
