A very happy 20th anniversary celebration

To the editor:

During the weekend of Oct. 19 and 20, The Way To Balance, LLC Center for Advanced Healing & Training hosted a Community Open House as the largest event of our year-long 20th anniversary celebration. People traveled from all over the state (and other states) to partake in the event, and several of them spent the day or weekend in Amesbury! Mayor Kezer took time out of his busy Sunday to attend, as did Lyndsey Haight, executive director of Our Neighbors’ Table.

Participants enjoyed presentations and demonstrations on a variety of topics, as well as door prizes, unique and healthy products and clothing for sale, and free food and refreshments. We are grateful to each guest speaker who donated their time and talent to make the event a success, including: Janice Anderson, Kari Heistad, Gale Lyman, Ruth Shilling and Ruth Baker.

In keeping with the community theme, we donated all proceeds from the 14 raffle prizes offered, plus a portion of attendees’ free-will donations, to Our Neighbors’ Table charity. This was in addition to donations made after our other two community events, the Neck & Back Pain Relief Clinic in August and the Headache & Migraine Pain Relief Clinic in September.

We thank these firms, individuals and restaurants for their generous donation of products and services as raffle items in support of Our Neighbors’ Table: A Better Massage, Barking Dog Bar & Grill, Compass Nutrition, Crave Brasserie, Deborah Cassidy LMT, Em Hanks, Fiddlestix Toys & Gifts, Flatbread Pizza, Guaranteed Fitness, Kevin Castelli LMT, Phat Cats Bistro, Riverwalk Gallery, Ruth Baker LMT, Send Out Cards. Also, thanks to Cider Hill Farm for donating cider, and Greenery Designs for donating a gorgeous flower arrangement in support of the event.

We also thank the dedicated volunteers who helped to make the event run smoothly, as well as the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce for their support in promoting the event, and the Amesbury News and Daily News of Newburyport for extending the reach of our invitation to their readership.

Finally, we thank the community for their ongoing support and patronage, which has allowed us to thrive in our wonderful space in the restored mill building at 21 Water St. Although we serve clients from around the world, we are proud to live, work and do business in Amesbury.

Sue and Aaron Singleton,
