On Aug. 19 the Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation held its 23rd Annual “Fore Your Health” Golf Tournament. Over 240 golfers enjoyed beautiful skies at Ferncroft Country Club. We would like to thank all golfers, sponsors, volunteers and committee members who helped make the outing a great success. This year’s tournament raised over $139,000 (after expenses) to help establish the new Gerrish Breast Care Center at Anna Jaques Hospital.

Chaired by Byron Matthews for the past 23 years, this tournament has raised over $1.5 million for the hospital. We would like to extend a special thanks to Byron and his committee for all their hard work. Committee members include: Kirsten Arnold, Rich Doolan, Steve DeGuglielmo, Luis Fernandez, Marshal Tom Howard, Rob Kotarba, Mac McKay, John Matthews, Peter Matthews, Donna Twombly, Dr. Kevin Gasiorowski and Marylou Welch.

We would also like to thank the seven area high school teams who participated in the 7th Annual “Byron Bowl” High School Challenge, sponsored by SPS New England, Inc. Congratulations to the winners Kyle Bushnell and Brendan Crowther from Newburyport High School who competed against players from Amesbury, Hamilton-Wenham, Haverhill, Ipswich, Pentucket and Triton.
