Eckholdt offers new voice, new ideas

Newburyport Daily News

---- — To the editor:

I live in Ward 3 and want to start out by saying that I am voting for Leslie Eckholdt to be my city councilor. Leslie has been my close friend and neighbor for over five years. She has many, many admirable characteristics, but there are a few that come to mind immediately when I describe her … integrity, passion, honesty and commitment. Leslie follows through on promises she has made to friends, colleagues, even strangers she has met on the campaign trail. Leslie is an upstanding citizen and human being. She is passionate to her core about this beautiful city in which she has lived for nearly 20 years. Nary a day goes by when there isn’t a discussion about the concerns she has as it relates to the open waterfront debate, broken sidewalks throughout the city, issues with today’s zoning laws and getting up to speed on the issues with our schools. With a master’s degree in education, she will add tremendous value to that discussion.

We need a fresh, new voice, new ideas and vision to address the concerns of Ward 3 residents and Newburyporters. Leslie has been working tirelessly, walking door-door asking residents what issues really concern them. She knows what they want and she is committed to delivering those messages to the City Council after she’s elected and responding back to her community, face to face.

Please get out and vote on Nov. 5, and vote for change. This is an important election.
