Thanks for making Cut-A-Thon a huge success

To the editor:

As October comes to an end and we reflect on the many uplifting and creative ways our community has acknowledged Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation is deeply grateful to the salons and day spas that participated in our first Anna Jaques Cut-A-Thon in support of the establishment of the Gerrish Breast Center at Anna Jaques Hospital.

All About You and Essencia Salon and Spa in Amesbury; Ana’s Hair Studio, Interlocks, and Spa Paradiso and Salon in Newburyport; Vintage Salon and Day Spa in Rowley; Skyy Salon and Spa in Salisbury; and Shear Illusions in Seabrook committed their time and talents to making the Cut-A-Thon a huge success. Collectively, through the generosity of these salons, their employees and clients, $10,070 was raised.

Salon owners and their staff were tremendously generous, enthusiastic and creative in making the Cut-A-Thon a memorable and successful event for all who participated. The Gerrish Breast Care Center unifies our team of professionals and breast care resources across specialties to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care and seamless coordination of services. The support shown by these salons has helped us bring a higher level of breast care to our community.
