---- — To the editor:
The Amesbury Lions Eye Mobile screening with the Amesbury Council on Aging, on Oct. 25, successfully screened a number of people. Through their work many area health care providers and social workers learned more about who the Lions are, and what Lions do.
We really appreciate having an eye mobile in District 33N and the Lions who see that it arrives, set up the unit and show us how to operate the screening stations.
That shows the dedication of Frank Bertolino, Newburyport Lion, 33N Eye Mobile President-Instructor-driver; Dr. Mike Sandberg, Reading Lion, 33N Eye Mobile treasurer/instructor. Thank you. Amesbury Lions screening were Charlene DiCarlo, Naomi Harty, Christina Johnson, John Massaua, Carol Casey, John Veilleux, Marie Veilleux, Denis Merchant, Randy Baptiste, president, Joni Baptiste VDG 33N, Sharon Pecci ZC, Jane Sweeney, president Haverhill Lions, and James Wagner, president Methuen Lions. Two Ohio Lions visiting our area — Lion Marian Zickefoose, Canfield, and DG Thomas Zickefoose, Ohio District 13-D — assisted.
All of these Lions live our Lions motto, “We Serve.”
Also, I share from health fair coordinator Beth Knets, MSW intern, and Annmary Connor, director, Amesbury COA, sincere appreciation and thanks for our participation.
