Holly Pouliot named vice president and information technology manager

HAVERHILL — Pentucket Bank announces Holly Pouliot of Amesbury has been named the bank's new vice president and information technology manager. She will oversee the bank's technology needs and infrastructure including planning, development and operations. Pouliot has more than 28 years of experience in banking and has held similar positions in other financial institutions.

D. Anne Bivins named vice president of hospice

VNA Care Network and Hospice, a nonprofit home health care, hospice and wellness agency serving Amesbury, Georgetown, Groveland, Newbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, West Newbury and other area communities, recently welcomed D. Anne Bivins, RN, MSN, MBA, as vice president of hospice. She brings more than 30 years of experience in nursing and health care management to her role leading palliative care and hospice services for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.

Dianne Webster elected president of Financial Planning Association, MA

AMESBURY — Dianne Webster, an Amesbury-based certified financial planner and president of Integrated Financial Strategies LLC, was elected president of the Financial Planning Association — Massachusetts Chapter, for 2008. The FPA is a nonprofit organization whose members adhere to a professional code of ethics and demonstrate professional commitment to education, philanthropic community involvement and a client-centered financial planning process.

G. Mello Disposal expands services, merges

GEORGETOWN — G. Mello Disposal Corp., a solid waste disposal and recycling company, has merged with Haul-It-All, a Georgetown-based container service company. Haul-It-All's former owner, Michael Monteiro, will join the G. Mellow Disposal team.

Tudor Construction Co. awarded contract

Tudor Construction Co. Inc. was recently awarded the contract for the construction of the Newburyport Community Media Center. The center is a nonprofit organization formed in 2006. Comcast channels 9 and 10 will broadcast from the center. It will also provide programming for the Newburyport schools and the city.

Solar Edison named SunPower distributor

SALISBURY — Solar Edison LLC, 141 Bridge Road, has reached an agreement to become a distributor for all SunPower products. Founded by Dr. Richard Swanson in 1985, SunPower acquired PowerLight Corp., a leading global provider of large-scale solar power systems, in January 2007. In addition to SunPower products, Solar Edison offers a full line of renewable energy solutions, including the ZAP electric vehicles.

Newburyport pork producer provides input in checkoff programs

Lisa Colby, a pork producer from Newburyport, served as a delegate at the Pork Act Delegate Assembly March 6 to 8 in St. Louis, Mo. Colby was named a delegate by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ed Schafer in January.

She was one of 155 delegates representing producers from 47 states and importers who sell pork products in the United States. Delegates were charged with helping provide direction to the pork promotion, research and consumer information programs funded by the Pork Checkoff through the National Pork Board. Producers contribute 40 cents of every $100 of sales to the Checkoff and importers use a sales formula to contribute a similar amount. The money helps producers pay for pork promotions such as the Don't be blah (tm) consumer campaign, TheOtherWhiteMeat.com Web site and research into animal welfare, food safety, swine health, environment and other topics.

Vocalist joins The Musical Suite

NEWBURYPORT — The Musical Suite, located in The Tannery, welcomes vocalist Neal Ferreira to its faculty. Praised by Boston media for his "fine voice" and "stylish delivery," he is a frequent performer in opera, oratorio and musical theater in Boston and the Greater New England area.

Ferreira completed his undergraduate studies at Providence College with a bachelor of arts degree in music and a concentration in vocal performance. In addition to teaching private voice lessons, he works as the tenor soloist at First Religious Society, Unitarian Universalist. Amelia's Salon purchases Hair Factory Salon building

MERRIMAC — Amelia (Jewett) Hovan, owner of Amelia's Salon, moved to 66 West Main St., Merrimac, on April 1. Shireley Farrand was the previous owner of the Hair Factory Salon building, who built her single-story salon in 1985 and ran a successful business for 21 years. Hovan started her career in the hair industry, ironically working for Shireley for 10 years before going out on her own.

Pentucket Bank promotes George Fahey

HAVERHILL — Pentucket Bank has promoted George Fahey to senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. He will be responsible for the management of the bank's financial and accounting operations. Fahey is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting. He earned his master of business administration degree from Babson College in Wellesley.

Mr. Fahey and his wife, Sharon, reside in West Newbury.
