In times of disaffection, seek a trustworthy professional

Where do you turn, if you have a serious medical concern? Usually a physician. Where do you turn, if you have a serious legal issue? Usually an attorney.
Where do you turn, if you can't trust the advice your getting on your 401(k)? Where do you turn, if you are concerned your savings won't last? Where do you turn, if you feel everybody wants to sell you something you don't understand and probably don't need?

Panel says NASA should skip moon, fly elsewhere

WASHINGTON (AP) and mdash; A special independent panel says NASA's plan to revisit the moon is the wrong mission with the wrong rocket.
Norman Augustine (Aw-Gus-TEEN) is chairman of the panel reviewing the agency's spaceflight plans. He said it makes more sense for NASA to consider landing on nearby asteroid or one of the moons of Mars. He said that could be done sooner than returning to the moon in 15 years as NASA has outlined.

Cold weather means it's time to insulate

Now that cold weather has descended upon us rather early and abruptly, it's time to get back to the basics so that we can best prioritize energy conservation improvements.
Look at the Attic First
In more than one article, I have emphasized the stack effect that takes effect as the outdoor temperatures drop. Buoyant warmed air increasingly pushes out at the top of the house and is replaced with cold air entering at the bottom of the house. The stack effect works 24/7 and does not stop until spring, when indoor temperature is about the same as outdoor. This is in large part why the attic is the best place to start saving.
