Creepy cult classic leads chills

Don your favorite "Rocky Horror Picture Show" costume and spend the night before Halloween taking in the campy '70s film when the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport's Market Square hosts its annual audience-participation screening of the cult classic tomorrow at 11 p.m.

The 1975 British musical comedy film that parodies science fiction and horror films has become a tradition for the Firehouse, which marries costumes with theatrics in hosting one of the late-night screenings that are especially popular during the Halloween season.

The Firehouse will hand out complimentary prop bags to all movie-goers and teach the audience how to dance like an alien transvestite to the tune of the "Time Warp" as part of the fun.

Costumes are highly encouraged. A narrator will lead the audience in playing along with the film. Tickets for the R-rated flick are $15. Call 978-462-7336 or visit www.firehouse.org.
