For many former members of the Clamshell Alliance, the new threat of international terrorism has, if anything, strengthened their opposition to nuclear power and their advocacy of alternative energy sources.
"These nuclear plants and their spent fuel storage pools constitute the single most dangerous terrorist target on United States soil," said Chris Nord, who serves on the board of C-10, a Newburyport-based nuclear monitoring agency.
