Bill Levasseur wants two things for the Triton Regional School District. "Communication and accountability," he said.

"My first priority is to see that the administration is working according to the wishes of the community," he said. "The administration is working on its own agenda, not the community's. We know what's in our children's best interest."

He said there are many good things going on in the Triton system, especially at the elementary school level, but it can be better.

"I want to be proud of the Triton school system and I think everybody else does too," he said. "I want people to choice into our school because we're a great school system"

Levasseur said the recent coaching controversy at the high school, in which three well-liked sports coaches were let go, is a cause for concern, even though his own children don't play on any of the affected teams. He said parents and students deserve an explanation about why the coaches were replaced and the administration is not giving them one.

He said the administration also needs to "remember the impact our coaches have on students' lives."

"I want the students of our school system to know that we are looking out for them and that decisions made by the administration are indeed in their best interests and adhere to the wishes of the community," he said in a campaign statement.

Levasseur said the Triton district has a poor public image, and that he wants to change that.

"Over the past year we have all been hearing about the negative impact surrounding decisions our current administration have made," he said. "I want to bring back the integrity, credibility and accountability we all expect from our school administration."
