Heard Around Town: Assault reported to Seabrook police ... from Florida

A local man reported a vicious assault to police over the weekend — all the way from Florida.

The man called the police station about 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to police logs. He said he had been walking through a "bad area" in Cocoa Beach, Fla., when another man pistol-whipped him.

The victim tried to break the alleged assailant's wrist and stab him under his arm, according to the police log, but the assailant just pulled another gun on him.

Seabrook police told the man to contact the local police department, and the man was taken to a local hospital.
