July 08, 2008 03:56 am Newbury police issued a warning to a man on Plum Island yesterday who was reportedly wearing his birthday suit instead of a swimsuit on the beach. Police responded to reports of a nude sunbather behind Fordham Way at about 3:30 p.m. The man had his pants on by the time police arrived, and was issued a verbal warning. The man told police he believed nude sunbathing was allowed on the beach, according to police reports. There are no nude beaches on Plum Island, or anywhere else on the North Shore.
