Summer Theater This year, 70 young actors and actresses from The Children's Summer Theater will take the stage to perform Forever Summer at the Firehouse in Newburport. The musical is about the joys of summer and the start of school. Committee seeks new member The West Newbury Americans with Disabilities Committee is seeking a new member. COA needs drivers The Council on Aging needs volunteer drivers to help with its NEET program, which provides seniors with transportation to appointments in the area. Green Team Paper Retrievers The Green Team at the Dr. John C. Page Elementary School is hosting a Paper Retriever's "What's Your Goal?" contest running until Aug. 31. If the students collect 12.86 tons of paper, the group will earn $250 for the school. The students have already collected 3.36 tons of paper and are aiming to collect more. Anyone wishing to donate can bring paper supplies to yellow and green paper bins behind the Page School. No drop-offs between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on school days. Alliance collecting used laptops The Alliance Dalaba-West Newbury is collecting used laptops for a new computer room at the high school in Dalaba, the town's sister city in Guinea, West Africa. Anyone with a used laptop to donate is asked to call John Hutchison at 978-363-5443. Potassium iodide (KI) tablets available The Board of Health is distributing potassium iodide (KI) tablets to interested residents and individuals who work in town, available by appointment. Town and Got Books? seeking donations The town and Got Books? have partnered to seek book donations from residents, businesses, schools, libraries, etc. A Got Books? donation container is at the 1910 Town Office Building, 381 Main St., accessible by anyone at any time.
