WATERCOLOR ILLUSTRATION: A COLOR FOCUS STUDY ON NATURE: Artist Gina Lee Kim leads this workshop, which focuses on interpreting nature's colors through the brilliance of watercolor painting. Last session in this series: Saturday, Dec. 13. Saturday, Nov. 22, 1 to 4 p.m. Meet at the Joppa Flats Education Center. Fee: $20 for Mass Audubon members; $26 for non-members. FAMILY FLYBY SUNDAY AT JOPPA FLATS: AUTUMN ADAPTATIONS: Fly by or spend the afternoon for free-flowing nature fun for families with children age 2 to 12. Sunday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet at the Joppa Flats Education Center. Fee: $2 per child for members; $3 per child for non-members. Registration is not required.
WEDNESDAY MORNING BIRDING ON CAPE ANN: Join Joppa Flats Sanctuary Director Bill Gette for this special birding field trip around Cape Ann. Appropriate for all birding levels. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meet at the Friendly's Restaurant in Gloucester, just off the first traffic circle on Route 128. Fee: $12 for Mass Audubon members; $15 for non-members. Registration is not required.
WHAT'S THAT BIRD: This is a special Thanksgiving weekend offering specifically for those who are beginning to look at birds. Each trip is limited to six participants. Children age 8 and up welcome. Sunday, Nov. 30, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Meet at the Joppa Flats Education Center. Fee: $5 for Mass Audubon member; $7 for non-members. Registration is required.

HOMESCHOOL FIELD TRIP: SEASHELLS AROUND THE WORLD: Field trips take us outside to examine habitats and collect samples. A follow-up extended-study session later in the month (Dec. 8) offers an opportunity to discuss, analyze and work on related projects. For ages 7 to 12. Parents are welcome but not required to stay. PARENT/CHILD WALKABOUTS: WRACK LINE WONDERS: Creative movement, guided imagery and lots of outdoor fun for families with children ages 3 to 6. Led by Teacher-Naturalist Lisa Hutchings. Fee covers one adult and one child. Friday, Dec. 5, 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 2:30 p.m. Meet at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Parking Lot #1. Fee: $10 for Mass Audubon members; $14 for nonmembers. Registration is required.
