To the editor:
I am writing to express my anger at the health insurance companies that jack up their rates higher and higher every single year like clockwork. Before the rate increases come through they have to be approved by the Commission of Insurance in Boston.
Why can't the officials in Boston either deny these increases or modify them? If the insurance company wants a large increase why not allow them half of the proposed increase? I urge everyone to write to Nonnie Burns at Commission of Insurance, 1 South Station, Boston, MA 02110 and protest yearly large rate hikes.
People on small fixed incomes will be reduced to making health insurance payments instead of buying food or paying utility bills.
