Tourney raises $25,000 for Elder Services

To the editor:

Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley raised more than $25,000 at its Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 19. Held for the first time at Meadow Creek Golf Course in Dracut, the course offered 104 golfers a change and a challenge — despite the rainy weather! The event, co-chaired by Leslie Brebner, Michael Collins, and Barry Egan was sponsored by Intercity Home Care in Malden and Trinity EMS in Westford.

This year's 2009 tournament Team Winners — first place, the Kissel family from Hampstead, N.H.: Mark, Mike, Dorothy and Vincent. The Graziano Team won second place, and the Holy Family Hospital Team took third. The longest drive (male) was earned by Mark Kissel and the longest drive (female) was won by Nancy McKenna, All Care VNA. Closest-to-the-pin (male) was won by Andy Brittan, Right At Home, and closest-to-the-pin (female) was won by Diane Galvin, Pentucket Bank.

Proceeds will benefit Elder Services' Elder Care Fund, a financial resource used to provide a variety of in-home services, community programs or items of basic necessity (food, fuel, prescriptions) that help keep older adults or those with disabilities safe and independent in their own homes and communities.
