First Scavenger Hunt a success

To the editor:

The Amesbury Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who took part in our First Scavenger Hunt on Friday, Oct. 16. The event attracted over 40 people who had a wonderful time. Even with the cold weather, everyone managed to navigate Amesbury with the clues offered, and picked up several food items for Our Neighbors' Table. Long-time residents even discovered new sites and locations!

The corporate sponsors for the event were Advantage Property Management, Gould Insurance, Newburyport Five, Stone Ridge Properties and The Provident Bank. Their continuing support allows Rotary to provide "service above self" not only in Amesbury but around the world.

Last, but by no means least, we would like to thank the local businesses that stayed open and provided locations for the scavenger hunters to find clues and in some cases and new venues for shopping: Crafters Quarters, Davis Jacks, Leo's Super Bowl, Parke Place and Paws Pet Boutique, plus our host for the evening, the Amesbury Sports Park. The hunters were amazed by the array of products offered by these businesses and we expect that they will again visit and shop when they are not on a deadline.
