January 13, 2009 03:54 am Running Cedardale Health and Fitness, 931 Boston Road in Haverhill, will host "The Science, Art, Psychology and Joy of Running" forum Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. It will feature several top speakers, including Todd Swenson (former Londonderry High star and technical support man for Saucony), physical therapist Andrew Cannon, Mick Grant (coach for Lynx Elite Athletics, a running and track club), veteran runner Mary Harada and Buddy Bostick, a local legend as a runner and coach. Lacrosse Newburyport High is looking for a JV girls lacrosse coach for the upcoming season. Baseball The Salisbury Youth Baseball/Softball League will hold registration for the 2009 season on Jan. 14 (5-8 p.m.) at the Salisbury Elementary School lobby. The second registration will be Jan. 24 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at the Salisbury Fire Station. The registration fee for instructional coed baseball is $95. For baseball/softball, the fee is $115. The second child and each additional child must pay $95. All clinics will host ages 7-12 from 6-7:15 p.m., and ages 13-18 from 7:15-8:30 p.m. Extra Innings will also have a February Vacation skills clinic Feb. 16-20. Ages 7-12 will practice 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ¬¢¬¢¬¢ Byfield-Newbury Little League will hold spring tryouts Jan. 17 at the Governor's Academy gymnasium from noon to 3 p.m. All players can request an application at bnbl@verizon.net. Hockey Triton Youth Hockey is inviting new skaters, ages 31âÑ2 to 10, for the last six weeks of its "Learn-to-Skate" program, which will run Saturday mornings, from Jan. 17 through Feb. 21, 8-8:50 a.m., at the Graf Rink.
