Triton 18, Wilmington 11
Sarah Nardone tallied four goals and two assists for Triton (7-4). Colleen Gargan and Eliza Woodworth added three goals each. Amanda Atherton had two goals. Colleen Loughlin and Erin Curley tallied one goal and one assist each. Erin Loughlin added a goal. Kristi Davis made 22 saves.
"It was definitely our strongest offensive game of the season," Triton coach Stacey Beaulieu said.
Pentucket 17, Newburyport 13
In an intense matchup between two bitter River Rivals, Pentucket prevailed over Newburyport, 17-13.
For Pentucket Zoe McKenzie had two goals and one assist, K.C. Jones had two goals and four assists, Sarah Evers had one goal and four assists, Brianna Yocum had three goals and one assist, Sarah Galligan had four goals and four assists, Kayla Jewett had three goals and one assist, Autumn Gadd had a goal, Vanessa Cahill had a goal and an assist, and Calley Jocum had an assist.
For Newburyport Laura Fallon had four goals and one assist, Emily Vartabedian had a goal and two assists, Isabella Szumowski had a goal, Avery Cullinan had four goals, Haley Johnson had two goals, and Chloe Hundermark had an assist.
Boys Lacrosse
Hamilton-Wenham 12, Newburyport 8
Andrew Sokol led Newburyport with three goals and one assist. Corey Ruane had two goals and two assists for the Clippers (4-6). Steve Matses scored two goals. Ethan Machurat tallied a goal and two assists. Kevin Ryan and Dan Durant had assists. The Clippers have lost three straight since April vacation.
"Even though we've come out of school vacation with three straight losses, we've gotten progressively better each game," Newburyport coach Ed Gaudiano said.
Softball
Manchester Essex 4, Pentucket 1
Pentucket, which has run into a rough stretch of play of late, will have some work to do after if the Sachems are to get back in tournament contention after falling to Manchester Essex, 4-1. Pentucket made too many errors in the field and struck out nine times at the plate, according to coach Dennis Puleo.
Triton 17, Georgetown 7
Marian Dulleau was stellar on the hill not allowing an earned run in two innings of work as Triton defeated Georgetown in a slugfest, 17-7. Marissa Strange was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Gail Lebrun was 2 for 3 with four runs scored and an RBI for the Vikings.
Baseball
North Andover 4, Georgetown 1
Darwin Fabian gave Georgetown the kind of pitching performance it needed, but with four games this week the Royals had nothing left in the bullpen when Fabian got tired after the fifth and North Andover was able to take advantage scoring two runs in both the sixth and seventh. Andrew Sinkewicz had two hits for the Royals and Chris Esposito had an RBI.
Hamilton-Wenham 3, Pentucket 12
Finally getting his shot, Nathan Poretta (5 innings pitched, 2 earned runs, 5 strikeouts) made the most of his start on the hill as Pentucket also had an offensive explosion to be Hamilton-Wenham. Justin Bolla was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Peter Creamer was 3 for 3 with three runs scored, and Jordan Silva was both stellar at the plate and at short stop going 2 for 5.
