No state tournament for the Indians

Baseball

Masconomet 19, Amesbury 6

Amesbury's David Smith was 3 for 3 with a home run. John Tassanari was also 3 for 3. Mike Corrigan was 1 for 2 with a home run on his birthday. Amesbury (3-10) will miss the EMass. state tournament for the first time since 2005.

Pentucket 10, Wilmington 3

Mike Sloban earned the complete-game victory for Pentucket. He allowed three first-inning runs on three hits before pitching a three-hit shutout over the final six innings.

"Our early energy was poor," Pentucket coach Tom L'Italien. "Mike Sloban really picked us up in the second and third while the rest of us caught up to his intensity."

Jordan Silva was 3 for 4 with two triples, three runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base for the Sachems (6-4). Bobby DiSorbo was 1 for 2 with a two-run double. Pentucket's top five hitters — Silva, Sean Milley, Justin Bolla, Peter Creamer and Harry Shipps — went 12 for 19 with eight runs and six RBIs.

North Reading 2, Georgetown 1

Tim Holland took the loss, allowing two runs — one earned — in 6 2/3 innings. He allowed nine hits and two walks. He struck out nine batters. Anthony Conte scored the lone Georgetown run on an RBI single from Andrew Barba.

Softball

Amesbury 11, Masconomet 0

Abby Pare had three hits including a triple for Amesbury (11-3). Gabby Magnifico had two hits including a bases-loaded triple and four RBIs. Jordan Oliva earned the win, allowing one hit.

Boys Tennis

Ipswich 3, Amesbury 2

Matt Incontri and Ben Uhlrik (6-4, 6-3) won at first doubles for Amesbury (5-8). Ben Lloyd and James Cummings (6-3, 2-6, 6-4) won at second doubles.

Girls Tennis

Manchester Essex 4, Newburyport 1

Newburyport's Sasha Radulski (6-2, 6-4) improved to 11-0 with the lone Newburyport (5-6) victory.

Triton 3, North Andover 2

Molly Fargeorge (6-1, 6-1) won her singles match for Triton (10-4). Allie and Megan Murray (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) and Christine Powers and Rachel Bissett (6-3, 6-4) won their doubles matches.

Boys Lacrosse

Masconomet 14, Triton 9

Triton's Craig White and Chris LeSage tallied two goals and one assist each. Paul Bishop added a goal and an assist. Will Joy and Caleb Woodworth scored one goal each. Carson True made 19 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

Georgetown 15, Wilmington 8

Shannon Hartford tallied six goals and five assists for Georgetown (8-4). Robyn Scotti and Emily Messelaar tallied two goals and one assist each. Meghan Makiver and Alyssa Rosenthal added one goal and one assist each. Michelle Reilly, Kristin Pingree and Kate Grosslein scored one goal each. Katherine Falzareno and Kim Nowers had assists. April Surrett made 17 saves.

Girls Track and Field

Mass. State Coaches Invitational

Pentucket's Ellen Broz placed first in the pole vault (9-6), eclipsing her school record by six inches. She was Pentucket's first coaches invitational champion in school history.

"Ellen had an unbelievable vaulting day," Pentucket coach Steve Derro said. "I couldn't be more proud of her. She has worked extremely hard to improve. All that hard work is paying off as she has improved by two feet from last year."

Amesbury's Brooke McCarron and Meridian Pratt finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the vault.
