Football

The Newburyport High football team is looking for a student manager for the fall season. Interested parties should call the main office at 978-465-4440 and ask for Pat.

Baseball

Extra Innings in Salisbury is accepting registration for its fall baseball and softball leagues, which will begin Sept. 6 and 7 with five different age divisions for baseball and three for softball. For more information, call 978-499-0063 or visit www.extrainnings-salisbury.com.

Running

Athletic Passes

The Newburyport High athletic department is selling year-long athletic passes for the entire 2008-2009 school year. The cost is $70 for adults and $40 for NHS students. Passes can be purchased in the main office with Pat McBride or at any night home game.

Learn to Skate

The Graf Rink is accepting applications for its fall Learn to Skate and Tiny Tots programs beginning in Sept. Classes will run Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. For more info including costs, visit www.grafrink.com or call the rink at 978-462-8112.

Golf

The fifth annual Clipper Cup Golf Tournament will be played Sept. 13 (8 a.m.) at Evergreen Golf Course. A $90 entry fee includes 18 holes with a cart, food, beverages and prizes. The Newburyport hockey program is looking for hole sponsors to make $100 raffle donations. All proceeds benefit the NHS hockey program. Ould Newbury's Tuesday morning Ladies League is now open to the public. The league, which runs until Oct. 7, welcomes all levels of play. First tee times are at 8:30 a.m. League fee is $40 for nonmembers, along with weekly greens fees. For more information, call 978-465-9888.
