Dandurant lifts Pentucket to first win

Field Hockey

Pentucket 1, Wilmington 0

Pentucket (1-1) picked up its first win thanks to a Hilary Dandurant goal on a Brittany LaClair assist. Kelleigh O'Hearn had another solid game in net with seven saves.

"We were flat in the first half, but things started to move in the second," said coach Ruth Beaton. "Halfway through the second, things just started to click — better passing and positioning. The girls were definitely gaining more confidence."

Newburyport 1, Triton 1

Triton (0-1-1) avoided losing two straight games by scoring a goal late in the second quarter. Newburyport (1-0-1) outshot the Vikings, 20-5. Cassandra Davis of Newburyport scored off a Rachel Notargiacomo assist, and Haley Morris and Leah Svoboda had a save each.

"We played well in the second, and our defense was really good, but the Vikings managed to squeeze a goal in on one of their few times at our end," said coach Lauren Hefferan. "We just need to be more aggressive in the circle."

Masconomet 2, Amesbury 1

Kaitlyn Goodwin made 15 saves for Amesbury (0-1). Nicole Costa scored Amesbury's only goal on an assist from Maggie Santosuosso.

"Kaitlyn played a monster game for us," Amesbury coach Gail Kelleher said. "We weren't really on offense too much. We're looking forward to improving."
