FOOTBALL
LYNNFIELD 14, AMESBURY 10
The Amesbury Indians lost a heartbreaker to the Lynnfield Pioneers on Saturday afternoon, 14-10. Amesbury led after the first quarter 3-0, thanks to a Nick Croce field goal, but trailed at the half 7-3. A 1-yard Tyler Lay quarterback sneak pushed the Indians ahead and into the final quarter 10-7; however, misfortune struck when a 32-yard Lynnfield fumble recovery for the score proved to be the game-deciding play. Indian Jesse Burrell led the team with 34 rushing yards on nine attempts and 76 receiving yards on three receptions. Lay rushed six times for 34 yards and the lone Indian touchdown, and made six completions on 15 attempts for 106 passing yards.
