Concerns: Staying focused.

Coach’s outlook: “Everyone wants to know how we can top last year, and all I tell them is come see this year’s team. My personal feeling is we have a stronger, deeper and all-around better team than last year. In our opinion, we have 21 varsity players that could start for us at any time, and we would not skip a beat. That shows how well these baseball players have been brought up through the Georgetown baseball youth programs.”

Newburyport

Coach: Steve Malenfant (2nd year)

Last year’s record: 15-6

Strengths: Experienced seniors and depth.

Concerns: Communication.

Coach’s outlook: “Our goal, as usual, is to win a CAL championship. To do so we have to come into the season with commitment and playing our best baseball to start.”

Pentucket

Coach: Tom L’Italien (10th year)

Last year’s record: 11-9

Strengths: Defense and hitting.

Concerns: Not being on a field to evaluate all players.

Coach’s outlook: “When we make my expectations, our expectations we will be successful. We measure success by getting better every day, giving your best effort and stacking great days on top of great days. We are not there yet but are moving in the right direction. This should be a hungry group of players.”

Triton

Coach: Ryan McCarthy (1st year)

Last year record: 9-11

Strength: Positive attitude, team speed.

Concerns: Experience at the varsity level.

Coach’s outlook: “I’m really excited for this season. We have a lot of young, energetic guys with our three senior captains that are working hard everyday, and can’t wait to get out and play some ball.”

Amesbury

Coach: Gene Burnham (6th season)

Last year’s record: 4-15
