The 23rd Annual Winner’s Circle Running Club Wild Turkey Trot 3.1 Mile Cross-Country Run/Walk will be run Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. at the Pipestave Hill/Mill Pond Recreation Area. Proceeds to benefit the West Newbury Historical Society and the charitable activities and youth and adult running programs of the Winner’s Circle Running Club. Get off the couch and join a Relay Team for the first-timers at the Green Strides Half Marathon and Relay race in October. The Howling Mile dog race will take place Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. at Newburyport’s Cashman Park. The dog will have the timing chip, and the dog owner will be running with the dog. The race will be one nautical mile along the rail trail. There will be prizes by weight class of the dog, and also prizes for the best costume. After the race there will be a dog carnival hosted by the Clipper City Canines organization.
