Hockey

The Ice Cats Youth Girls Hockey club is holding tryouts starting next week, and girls ages 8 to 14 are encouraged to try out. The program is open to people from all communities, and practices and games will be held weekly at local rinks around the area. Tryouts will be held at the Kasabuski Rink in Saugus on March 6 at 4:50 p.m. (for U14), 6 p.m. (for U10), 7:10 p.m. (for U12) and March 12 (for U10 again). There is a $150 tryout fee, and anyone with questions should contact Jeff at JLveglia@comcast.net.

Summer programs

Football, girls lacrosse, tennis, soccer, basketball and outdoor adventure camps and clinics will be offered at Pingree School for a variety of ages this summer. Families are also invited to an open house on Sunday, March 30, from 1-3 p.m. The Pingree School is located at 537 Highland St. in South Hamilton.

Swimming

Soccer

Seacoast United has a few open spots on its Boys U14 and Boys U15 Club Teams, and prospective players are welcome to try out for the team. The teams both play in the New England Premiership League, and training sessions are twice a week at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping, N.H. Flag Football

Spring registration for the 2014 Newburyport Youth Flag Football, a member of NFL Flag Football, has opened online registration. Register at www.syffl.com. Limited space is available for ages 5/6, 7/8, 9-11 and 12-15, and teams are coed. Games for ages 5-15 are all played in Newburyport beginning in April.
