Local Round Up


Georgetown-Ipswich finished 9th of 17 teams yesterday in the Pentucket Holiday Tournament with heavy contributions from wrestlers such as Derek Chamberlain who went 4-0 and captured the championship at 195 pounds.

Constantine Galanis: 3-1, Runner-up at 138 pounds

Mike Gallanar : 4-11, 3rd Place at 145 pounds

Georgetown-Ipswich will next travel to Pentucket at 9 am on New Year’s Eve.

Boys Indoor Track

Pentucket received great contributions from six runners at yesterday’s Holiday Qualifier at the Reggie Lewis Center. Sam Coppola led the way with a new school record in the 600 Meter.

600 Meter:

Sam Coppola – 128.92, School record; 1st in Qualifier, 5th Place Overall

Alex Demeule - 2nd in Qualifier, 7th Overall

Josh Wildes – Time of 132.67

Drew Capener – Time of 133.62

Girls Indoor Track

Pentucket girls finished in 5th in the 4x200 race at the Holiday Qualifier at the Reggie Lewis Center yesterday. Jennie Nelson, Maddie Nelson, Grace Dore and Charlotte Merrit finished with a time of 1:55.63. That time qualified them for the state competition.

Tyler Feeney finished 8th in the girls 55 meter hurdles with a time of 10.01.
