Reduker at the Reggie Lewis Center

Newburyport High sophomore Alec Reduker earned Field Athlete of the Meet at the Mass. State Coaches Track Association Freshman/Sophomore Invitational yesterday at the Reggie Lewis Center. Reduker placed first in the high jump (5-8), and just missed clearing a school-record height of 6-3. Reduker also placed fourth in the high hurdles (8.73).

Boyle’s big match

The highlight of the Triton wrestling team’s quad meet at Malden Catholic Saturday was the team’s 48-36 victory over the hosts. The match swung in Triton’s favor when senior Mark Boyle pinned one of the top 182-pound wrestlers in Division 2, Malden Catholic’s Ian Stickel. Boyle won by fall at 3:30.

Gorrell’s comeback win

The Georgetown/Ipswich wrestling team collected a dramatic 42-34 victory over Watertown Saturday, with the highlight coming when junior Henry Gorrell earned a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over Watertown senior captain Steve Emerton. Gorrell trailed 2-0 heading into the third period.
