Leahy lifts Newburyport over Amesbury

Girls Basketball

Newburyport 41, Amesbury 34

The Clippers survived a game in which they played far from their best, outlasting Amesbury to improve their record to 6-1. Aly Leahy recorded 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist to help her team on what coach Gregg Dollas called a “bad shooting night.” The Clippers will play Ipswich next at home on Friday.

Boys Basketball

Hamilton-Wenham 61, Pentucket 50

Pat Beaton and Ryan Kuchar scored 11 points each for the Sachems (3-4).

North Reading 42, Triton 40

Ellsworth Rodgers had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Triton (3-3).


Triton 60, Andover 6

The Vikings improved to 7-4 with victories by 10 of their wrestlers. John Falasca won by forfeit, while Alec Moffat, Brody Johnson, Josh Misiano, Jake Durkin, Lewi L’Heureux, Cody Nixon, Luke Boyle, Tom Howell and Mark Boyle each won by fall. The Vikings will look to continue on the right path when they travel to Brookline on Saturday.
