Triton's Barry, Darsney star at D3 championships

Division 3 Championships

Triton’s Connor Barry placed second in the 400 meters (50.28) at the Division 3 Championships Sunday at Pembroke. Brandon Duford placed third in the pole vault (10-6). Kerstin Darsney placed third in the triple jump. All three Triton athletes qualified for Saturday’s All-State Championships.

Baseball

Amesbury 4, Cambridge Rindge and Latin 3

Amesbury (11-9) had its final state-tournament tuneup yesterday, and Nick Hawrylciw earned the win with 5.2 innings on the hill. He allowed three runs on six hits and three walks. Andy Reidy earned the save in 1.1 innings of work. He allowed one hit and struck out two. Devlin Gobeil was 1 for 3 with a solo home run.

Tommy Connors was 2 for 3 with an RBI. JT Chamberlin was 2 for 3. Mac Short was 1 for 1 with an RBI, a run scored, and three at-bats that ended when he was hit by a pitch.
