Basketball
The annual Clipper Girls Basketball Camp, under the direction of NHS athletic director John Daileanes, will run June 21 (noon to 5 p.m.) and June 22-24 (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) in the Newburyport High gymnasium. The coaching staff at Triton Regional High will be offering four separate weeks of clinics for all players entering grades 1-9. Each week focuses on a different set of skills. Clinics will run 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Week 1 (July 6-8) will focus on ball handling and passing. Week 2 (July 13-15) will focus on shooting. Week 3 (July 20-22) will focus on offensive moves. Week 4 (July 27-29) will focus on defense and rebounding. Baseball
Newburyport Youth Baseball Camp will run June 21 through July 2 (9-noon) at Newburyport Pioneer Park. The camp is for boys and girls ages 5-12. The cost is $125 for one week or $225 for two. Peak Performance Speed, Agility, Quickness and Conditioning Clinic, under the direction of strength coach Jason Beauparlant, will be offering two locations this summer in Newburyport and Amesbury. The 10th annual Trav's Trail Run 3.0-mile race will be held May 23 at Maudslay State Park. All race proceeds will benefit the Travis Landreth Scholarship Fund. The 11th annual Hershey youth program, sponsored by Winner's Circle Running Club, runs Wednesday nights at Fuller Track in Newburyport. It is open to all area youth ages 9-14. Events vary with age from sprints, middle distance and softball throw. The local Hershey meet is June 15, and the state meet is June 26 for qualifiers. The program cost is $30.
